ABSTRACT

Background: Bibliometric studies help in quantifying the pattern of research published in a particular area of interest to get the measure of research productivity. In this context, we analyzed the dental and COVID-19 re-search papers published from December 2019 to January 2021 globally. Method: The articles were retrieved from the PubMed and WHO COVID -19 databases using MeSH terms and keywords. The data downloaded as excel and extracted bibliometric information’s and analyzed using Epi-info (7.2) software. Result: We obtained 800 research articles after removing duplicates and non-relevant articles from 1,823 ar-ticles from these two databases. The articles were published by 475 institutions in 62 countries. Among the listed countries, more publications were done by the United States of America (USA) (n=135;16.8%). The ma-jority of the papers were published in June 2020 (n=114). The King's College London had the most number of publications (n=15; 1.9%). The majority of the articles were original articles (n=592; 74%). Conclusion: The study reports a gradual increase in publications over the months and a slowing down at the end of the year. The countries such as the USA, England, Italy, and China published more articles and this cor-relates with the number of covid-19 cases.

ABSTRACT

Background: Population-based screening coverage for breast and cervical cancer screening in the community is inadequately reported in India. This study assessed screening rates, awareness, and other factors affecting screening, among rural women aged 25� years in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Methods: Women aged 25� years, from five randomly selected villages of a rural block were included in this cross-sectional study in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Households were selected by systematic random sampling, followed by simple random sampling of eligible women in the house. A semi-structured questionnaire was used to assess screening practices, awareness, and other factors related to cervical and breast cancer. Results: Although 43.8% and 57.9% were aware of the availability of screening for cervical and breast cancer respectively, screening rates were only 23.4% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 18.4-28.4%) and 16.2% (95% CI: 11.9-20.5%), respectively. Adequate knowledge (score of ?50%) on breast cancer was only 5.9%, with 27.2% for cervical cancer. Only 16.6% of women had ever attended any health education program on cancer. Exposure to health education (breast screening odds ratio [OR]: 6.89, 95% CI: 3.34-14.21; cervical screening OR: 6.92, 95% CI: 3.42-14.00); and adequate knowledge (breast OR: 4.69, 95% CI: 1.55-14.22; cervix OR: 3.01, 95% CI: 1.59-5.68) were independently associated with cancer screening. Conclusion: Awareness and screening rates for breast and cervical cancer are low among rural women in Tamil Nadu, a south Indian state with comparatively good health indices, with health education being an important factor associated with screening practices.

BACKGROUND Dengue is a disease caused by dengue virus (DENV-1 through -4). Among the four serotypes, DENV-4 remains the least studied. Acute kidney injury is a potential complication of dengue generally associated with severe dengue infection. OBJECTIVES The goal of this study was to investigate the alterations caused by experimental dengue infection in the kidney of adult BALB/c mice. METHODS In this study, BALB/c mice were infected through the intravenous route with a DENV-4 strain, isolated from a human patient. The kidneys of the mice were procured and subject to histopathological and ultrastructural analysis. FINDINGS The presence of the viral antigen was confirmed through immunohistochemistry. Analysis of tissue sections revealed the presence of inflammatory cell infiltrate throughout the parenchyma. Glomerular enlargement was a common find. Necrosis of tubular cells and haemorrhage were also observed. Analysis of the kidney on a transmission electron microscope allowed a closer look into the necrotic tubular cells, which presented nuclei with condensed chromatin, and loss of cytoplasm. MAIN CONCLUSIONS Even though the kidney is probably not a primary target of dengue infection in mice, the inoculation of the virus in the blood appears to damage the renal tissue through local inflammation.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) is a rare and heterogeneous disease that is difficult to diagnose and requires complex and expensive diagnostic tools. The saccharin transit time test is a simple and inexpensive tool that may assist in screening patients with PCD. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to compare changes in the electron microscopy findings with clinical variables and saccharin tests in individuals diagnosed with clinical PCD (cPCD) and a control group. DESIGN AND SETTING: An observational cross-sectional study was conducted in an otorhinolaryngology outpatient clinic from August 2012 to April 2021. METHOD: Patients with cPCD underwent clinical screening questionnaires, nasal endoscopy, the saccharin transit time test, and nasal biopsy for transmission electron microscopy. RESULTS: Thirty-four patients with cPCD were evaluated. The most prevalent clinical comorbidities in the cPCD group were recurrent pneumonia, bronchiectasis, and chronic rhinosinusitis. Electron microscopy confirmed the clinical diagnosis of PCD in 16 of the 34 (47.1%) patients. CONCLUSION: The saccharin test could assist in screening patients with PCD due to its association with clinical alterations related to PCD.

Background: Premarital Screening (PMS) program in Saudi Arabia aims at limiting the spread of hereditary diseases like Sickle Cell Anemia (SCA) and Thalassemia and infectious diseases like Hepatitis B&C and Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Although the PMS program is reducing the percentage of incompatible marriages, the prevalence of hemoglobinopathies is still remaining high. With the changing perception of the general population towards the PMS program, an examination of community awareness and attitude toward PM S is needed to find ways for reducing the prevalence of diseases. Objective : T o assess the present knowledge and attitude of the adult Saudi community from Riyadh Province to the premarital screening (PMS) program for hemoglobinopathies. Methods: This cros s - sectional study was conducted on 676 participants from the general population in June - September 2022. The electronic questionnaire was used to assess the sociodemographic data, knowledge, and attitude toward the PMS program. Results: Out of the 676 participants, 58% were females, and 42% were males. 54% had consanguineous marriages and 5.6% hemoglobinopathies in the family. 96.3% agreed on suggesting PMS to others, 83.2% considered PMS incompatible marriage is wrong, and 78.6% considered associated g enetic counselling is important. 22.7% preferred consanguineous marriage over non - consanguineous. For raising awareness, 97.6%, 85.9%, 84.6%, and 81.2% of respondents felt the need for community participation through the internet, social media, and medical education in schools respectively. Conclusion: Most participants have a positive attitude but only superficial knowledge of the PMS program and one - third are still unaware of its use for the prevention of hemoglobinopathies, especially thalassemia. Increa sing the knowledge about the importance of the PMS program and associated genetic counselling should be done with multiple information sources in a well - organized way that suits the community’s requirements.

Context: The proliferation and differentiation of human periodontal ligament stem cells (hPDLSC) into other cell types are also mediated by mechanical stresses; they might offer therapeutic benefits in tissue regeneration and angiogenesis. Objectives: The study was planned to assess the proliferation, clonogenic potential, and osteogenic differentiation of human periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSC) following the application of light and heavy orthodontic forces. Materials and Methods: A couple forces of 50 gm (light force) were applied on the 1st premolar on the one side and 250 gm (heavy force) on the contralateral side in the upper arch of patients requiring orthodontic treatment with extraction of all 1st premolars. After 30 days, periodontal tissues were scrapped from extracted teeth for the establishment of PDLSC in vitro. PDLC from the lower premolar teeth where no orthodontic force was applied acted as the control group. Morphology, viability, proliferating rate and population doubling time, clonogenicity, and alkaline phosphatase activity were analysed. Result: The osteogenic potential was confirmed by Alizarin red staining and the expression of the osteogenic markers by qRT?PCR. The morphology, growth kinetics, potency, and osteogenic lineage characteristics inferred the application of high force reduced the proliferative ability and osteogenesis of PDLSC, though the difference was not significant. Conclusion: The established PDLSCs demonstrated their MSC?like properties based on morphology, growth kinetics, colony forming ability, and AP activity. The culture?expanded PDLSCs showed their differentiation potential into osteocytes. The application of high force reduced the proliferative ability and osteogenesis of PDLSCs, variations were not significant.differentiation

ABSTRACT

Hypertriglyceridemia(HTG)is the third most common cause of acute pancreatitis but it is relatively rare and requires a highlevel of clinic suspicion. We report a 30 years old male with no co-morbidities who is a non-alcoholic, non-smoker presented with epigastric pain associated with vomiting for two days. His vitals were stable and systemic examination wasunremarkable. Serum lipase levels were elevated [7365 U/l(<40 U/l)]. Computed Tomography of the abdomen suggested acute pancreatitis with extensive peri-pancreatic inflammatory changes with no evidence of pancreatic necrosis. Serum triglycerides were found to be elevated (3450 mg/dl). A diagnosis of HTGinduced acute pancreatitis was made. During evaluation he was found to be diabetic. He was treated with intravenous fluids, IV insulin infusion, and other supportive measures. He was started on statins, fenofibrate and omega3 fatty acids. His condition improved and triglyceride levels after two days were in a declining trend and he was discharged on the same. He was currently under follow up and his serum amylase, serum lipase, serum triglycerides were normal. This case report provides insight into rare cause of acute pancreatitis-HTGwhich if diagnosed at the earliest can be treated promptly.

Drug discovery aimed at the methodical extermination of life-threatening bacterial infection, especially considering the emergence of multi-drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria has remained a challenge for medicinal inorganic chemistry. In this article, the mixed ligand complexes of Cu (II), Co (II), and Ni (II) containing heterocyclic ligands were synthesized and characterized by IR, LC-MS, UV, and TG-DTA. Complexes are screened for Anti-microbial activity against human pathogenic bacteria.

ABSTRACT

Pancytopenia always remains a challenge for its detailed diagnostics evaluation, ranging from megaloblastic anemia to marrow aplasia and leukemia. Here, we report the case scenario of a 70-year-old male who presented with pancytopenia and his elaborated diagnostics approach, concluding the diagnosis of myelofibrosis with positive W515L. This case illustrates the uniqueness of establishing the diagnosis of myelofibrosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective: 1) To critically review the published literature on applications of dental stem cells in the regeneration of intraoral tissues. 2) To provide an evidence-based level on research regarding application of dental stem cells in intraoral tissues regeneration. Methodology: This systematic review is conducted as per the JBI guidelines and reported as per the PRISMA. An initial literature search of papers published between 2004 and 2018 yielded 421 manuscripts. Nineteen studies satisfied the inclusion / exclusion criteria and were included for qualitative synthesis. Studies were categorized as animal (11) and human (8) trials. Five independent reviewers critically assessed the included studies. Risk of bias was assessed using SYstematic Review Centre for Laboratory animal Experimentation (SYRCLE) bias risk tool, robins-I tool for non-randomised clinical trial and Cochrane Collaboration's Tool for randomised clinical trial. Evidence levels were assessed based on JBI Criteria. Results: Animal trials mainly focused on periodontal regeneration. A high or unclear Risk of bias was more commonly found amongst animal studies. Laboratory, clinical and radiographic evaluation were used to assess the outcome. A total of Eight Human studies were conducted on a total samples size of 153 upon a wide age ranging from seven years to 60 years. Nearly 70% of the human studies used DPSC for regenerating alveolar bone defects. Conclusion: Appropriate well designed double-blind randomized clinical trials of longer duration are yet to be performed. Evidence for the included studies were 1C and 1D as per the JBI Criteria. Stem cell therapy demonstrated promising results in Periodontal tissue and alveolar bone regeneration. However, the number of studies to claim such a benefit are very limited (AU)


Objetivo: 1) Revisar criticamente a literatura publicada sobre aplicações de células-tronco dentárias na regeneração de tecidos intraorais. 2) Fornecer um nível baseado em evidências sobre pesquisas relacionadas à aplicação de células-tronco dentárias na regeneração de tecidos intraorais. Metodologia: Esta revisão sistemática é conduzida de acordo com as diretrizes do JBI e relatada de acordo com o PRISMA. Uma pesquisa bibliográfica inicial de artigos publicados entre 2004 e 2018 resultou em 421 manuscritos. Dezenove estudos satisfizeram os critérios de inclusão / exclusão e foram incluídos para síntese qualitativa. Os estudos foram categorizados como ensaios em animais (11) e humanos (8). Cinco revisores independentes avaliaram criticamente os estudos incluídos. O risco de viés foi avaliado usando a ferramenta de risco de viés do Centro de Revisão Sistemática para Experimentação com Animais de Laboratório (SYRCLE), a ferramenta robins-I para ensaios clínicos não randomizados e a Ferramenta da Colaboração Cochrane para ensaios clínicos randomizados. Os níveis de evidência foram avaliados com base nos critérios JBI. Resultados: Os ensaios em animais focaram principalmente na regeneração periodontal. Um risco alto ou pouco claro de viés foi mais comumente encontrado entre os estudos com animais. Avaliações laboratorial, clínica e radiográfica foram utilizadas para avaliar o resultado. Um total de oito estudos em humanos foram conduzidos em um tamanho total de amostras de 153 com ampla faixa etária, variando de sete a 60 anos. Quase 70% dos estudos em humanos usaram DPSC para regeneração de defeitos ósseos alveolares. Conclusão: Ensaios clínicos randomizados duplo-cegos apropriados e bem elaborados de maior duração ainda precisam ser realizados. As evidências para os estudos incluídos foram 1C e 1D de acordo com os critérios JBI. A terapia com células-tronco demonstrou resultados promissores na regeneração do tecido periodontal e do osso alveolar. No entanto, o número de estudos para reivindicar tal benefício é muito limitado (AU)

ABSTRACT@#The use of tooth-derived material as a scaffold has gained attention recently due to its ease of availability and bioactive properties. Hence, the objective of this study was to determine in vitro interaction of human gingival mesenchymal stem cells (hGMSCs) with human demineralised teeth matrix (hDTM) on osteogenic potential with or without osteogenic inducers. The hGMSCs were established and characterised on their morphology, proliferation, population doubling time (PDT), viability, colony-forming ability, expression of cell surface markers and adipogenic differentiation. Further, the effect of hDTM on the biocompatibility and osteogenic differentiation ability of hGMSCs was evaluated. The hGMSCs displayed a fibroblast-like appearance and exhibited a greater proliferative activity. The cells showed > 91% viability, and PDT varied between 39.34 hours and 62.59 hours. Further, hGMSCs indicated their propensity to form clusters/ colonies, and expressed the markers, such as CD29, CD44, CD73 and CD90, but were negative for CD34 and CD45. When treated with adipogenic induction medium, hGMSCs were able to exhibit the formation of neutral lipid vacuoles. The hGMSCs cultured with hDTM did not show any cytotoxic changes including morphology and viability. Mineralisation of calcium nodules was observed in hGMSCs when cultured in osteogenic induction (OI) medium as an indication of osteogenesis. hGMSCs when cultured with hDTM confirmed the presence of a mineralised matrix. Further, when the cells were cultured with hDTM along with OI, they showed slightly enhanced differentiation into osteocytes. In conclusion, hGMSCs were shown to be biocompatible with hDTM, and demonstrated their enhanced osteogenic potential in the presence of hDTM and osteogenic supplements.

ABSTRACT

Abstract In recent decades, high-resolution ultrasound (HRUS) has revolutionized the morphological and structural evaluation of peripheral nerves and muscles, revealing details of the internal structure of the neural fascicles and muscle architecture. Applications range from diagnostics to interventional procedures. The anatomy of the forearm region is complex, with several muscles and an extensive network of vessels and nerves. To guarantee the success of the evaluation by HRUS, knowledge of the normal anatomy of the region is essential. The aim of these two companion articles is to present the normal anatomy of the nerves and compartments of the forearm, as revealed by HRUS, as well as the relationships between the main vessels and nerves of the region. Part 1 aims to review the overall structure of nerves, muscles and tendons, as seen on HRUS, and that of the forearm compartments. We present a practical approach, with general guidelines and tips on how best to perform the study. Part 2 is a pictorial essay about compartment vascularization and cutaneous innervation. Knowledge of the normal anatomy of the forearm improves the technical quality of the examinations, contributing to better diagnoses, as well as improving the performance and safety of interventional procedures.

INTRODUÇÃO: A incontinência urinária é definida como qualquer perda involuntária de urina. É um sério problema de saúde pública e as mulheres são as mais afetadas e apresentam como fatores de risco o envelhecimento, mais de duas gestações, parto vaginal com episiotomia, entre outros. Embora a IU não seja uma condição de vida ameaçadora, pode levar a situações com repercussões a nível social e pessoal, com influência na qualidade de vida. OBJETIVO: Descrever a frequência da IUE em um centro especializado na cidade de Salvador, assim como apontar as características clínicas, fatores de risco e comorbidades associadas à IUE feminina. MATERIAIS E MÉTODOS: Estudo transversal descritivo, a partir da análise de dados de prontuários de mulheres portadoras de incontinência urinária de esforço, incluídos dados sociodemográgicos, fatores de risco, comorbidades associadas, queixas clínicas e dados objetivos de Pad Test e Diário Miccional. RESULTADOS: Foram incluídas 28 mulheres com idade média de 48,9 anos (±7,7), de raça parda (46,2%), com ensino médio completo (40%), casadas (52%), trabalhadoras do lar (32,2%), IMC médio 26,2 (±4,9). A comorbidade associada mais predominante foi obesidade (28,6%), o fator de risco dominante foi o consumo de café (70%). A queixa clínica mais prevalente foi perda ao tossir (96,3%). Quando analisado Pad test, notado maior prevalência de perda leve (57,14%), seguido por (39,29%) de perda moderada e perda grave (3,57%). CONCLUSÃO: Mulheres de meia idade, pardas, menopausadas, obesas, hipertensas, multíparas, que realizaram parto vaginal com episiotomia, constipadas e que ingerem cafeína são mais propensas a desenvolver a incontinência urinária de esforço. Houve uma maior prevalência de incontinência urinária leve.


INTRODUCTION: Urinary incontinence is defined as any involuntary loss of urine. It is a serious public health problem, and women are the most affected and present aging as risk factors, more than two pregnancies, vaginal delivery with episiotomy, among others. Although UI is not a threatening life condition, it can lead to social and personal repercussions, influencing the quality of life. OBJECTIVE: Describe the frequency of SUI in a specialized center in the city of Salvador, as well as point out the clinical characteristics, risk factors, and comorbidities associated with female SUI. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Descriptive cross-sectional study, based on data analysis of medical records of women with stress urinary incontinence, including sociodemographic data, risk factors, associated comorbidities, clinical complaints, and objective data from Pad Test and Diary Diary. RESULTS: Twenty-eight women with an average age of 48.9 years (± 7.7), brown race (46.2%), complete high school (40%), married (52%), housewives (32.2%), mean BMI 26.2 (± 4.9). The most prevalent associated comorbidity was obesity (28.6%); the dominant risk factor was coffee consumption (70%). The most prevalent clinical complaint was cough loss (96.3%). When analyzed Pad test noted a higher prevalence of mild loss (57.14%), followed by (39.29%) moderate loss and severe loss (3.57%). CONCLUSION: Middle-aged, mulatto, menopausal, obese, hypertensive, multiparous women who had a vaginal delivery with episiotomy, constipation, and caffeine intake are more likely to develop stress urinary incontinence. There was a higher prevalence of mild urinary incontinence.

@#Objectives: To recognize the radiographic patterns of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Malaysia. Materials and Methods: Chest radiographs of patients confirmed with COVID-19 in Hospital Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia were retrospectively analyzed by two radiologists. The radiographic pattern, distribution among subgroups and evolution of the disease over time were determined. Results: Among the 82 patients studied, 65 (79.3%) were males. Mean age of our cohorts was 37 ± 15 years. Baseline chest radiographs were abnormal in 37 patients (45.1%). Over half (52.9%) of the symptomatic patients had abnormal baseline radiograph. Among the children, patients with comorbidities, and patients 60 years of age and above, the abnormal radiographs were 14.3%, 71.4% and 69.3% respectively. Ground glass opacities were the commonest abnormal radiographic feature (35.4%), were peripherally located (35.4%) with predilection for the lower zones (29.3%). Most radiographic abnormalities were multifocal (20.7%) and frequently located in the left lung (19.5%). Radiographic recovery was observed in 15 of 18 patients (83%). Computed tomography (CT) scan demonstrated greater extent of the disease than observed in radiographs of the same patient. Conclusions: COVID-19 pneumonia presented with a specific radiographic pattern in our cohort of patients, comprising of ground glass opacities in peripheral and basilar distribution, affecting a single lung field and was observed in both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients. Chest radiograph is a useful adjunct screening tool, and in combination with clinical and epidemiological assessment may facilitate in early diagnosis of COVID-19 pneumonia.

Aims: The aim of the study was to assess the etiological factors of female primary infertility.Place and Duration of the Study:This prospective study was conducted in the Gynaecology clinic of Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital, Chennai, from August 2016 to February 2018.Methods:All the reproductive age group women coming to Gynaecology opd out patient clinic with historyof anxious to conceive. Those patients who satisfy the above criteria those have been selected for the study.The test has been carried out in hospitalized patients:1.A detailed history were taken.2.General physical and systemic examination were done.3.Ovarian factors and uterine factors ruled out.4.For tubal cannulation.The data collection technique adopted in this technique is structured questionnaire on the evaluation of infertility in couple of less than 35 years of age in a period of infertility less than 5 years from infertility OPD for one and half years of Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital. Detailed history obtained from the couple and evaluate, informat ion with the help of various investigation in evaluating an infertile couple[1].Results:Age: The prevalence of infertility in the age group 21 –29 years were about 76% in women. Menarche This showed that maximum number of female attain menarche at the age group of 12 to 14years. In our study, it is observed that there is a strong relationof infertility with BMI, the prevalence of infertility increases as BMI Increases in population. 22% of the women have BMI above 30 (obese).In our study, 8% of the women has hydrosalpinx, 4%of the women had fibroids and 6% of the women has polyps. We observed that 4% of the women had unilateral fallopian tubal block and 2% had bilateral fallopian tubal block [2].Conclusion:In modern era of economically growing world we have concluded that the prevalence of infertility is about 76% in women age group of21-29, 40% of the women has attained menarche at 12-14 years, observed hydrosalpinx in 8%, polyps in 6% and fibroids in 4% [3].

ABSTRACT

Background: Pharmacovigilance is multidisciplinary field of the detection, assessment, understanding, and prevention of adverse drug reactions (ADRs). The incidences of ADRs about 95% are undocumented worldwide. However, there is a lack of information on ADR burden in developing countries due to lack of resources, infrastructure, and expertise.Methods: A cross-sectional questionnaire-based study was conducted on 90 staff nurses 90interns and 90 postgraduates. The validated questionnaire contained items to check knowledge including 7 questions, 9 questions to analyze attitude and 5 for practices. Comparison between knowledge, attitude and practice data obtained from resident doctors and nurses was performed using Chi square test.Results: A total of 270 healthcare professionals participated in the study. In our study the participants had good knowledge regarding the purpose of monitoring and reporting ADRs etc. The result shows that health care professionals felt reporting of ADRs is a professional obligation and all ADRs should be reported. There was no significant difference in the knowledge and attitude between interns and nurses but few questionnaires show significant variations between post graduate and staff nurse. The practice of ADR reporting was significantly higher in postgraduate compared to nurses.Conclusions: This study concluded that post graduate, intern and staff nurse had good knowledge and positive attitude towards pharmacovigilance and ADR reporting, but unfortunately the actual practice of ADR reporting is still deficient among staff nurse and intern. This can be improved by adequate training and motivation.

ABSTRACT

Purpose@#The diagnosis of chronic rhinosinusitis requires a comprehensive knowledge of the signs and symptoms of the disease and an accurate radiographic assessment. Computed tomography (CT) is the superior imaging modality for diagnosis of chronic rhinosinusitis. However, considering the lower dose and higher resolution of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) compared to CT, this study aimed to assess the agreement between the findings of CBCT and functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS). @*Materials and Methods@#This descriptive prospective study evaluated 49 patients with treatment-resistant chronic rhinosinusitis who were candidates for FESS. Preoperative CBCT scans were obtained before patients underwent FESS. The agreement between the CBCT findings and those of FESS was determined using the kappa correlation coefficient. The frequency of anatomical variations of the paranasal sinuses was also evaluated on CBCT scans. @*Results@#Significant agreement existed between pathological findings on CBCT scans and those of FESS, such that the kappa correlation coefficient was 1 for mucosal thickening, 0.644 for nasal deviation, 0.750 for concha bullosa, 0.918 for nasal polyp, 0.935 for ostiomeatal complex (OMC) obstruction, and 0.552 for infundibulum thickening. Furthermore, 95.9% of patients had 1 or more and 79.6% had 2 or more anatomical variations, of which nasal deviation was the most common (67.3%). @*Conclusion@#Considering the significant agreement between the findings of CBCT and FESS for the detection of pathological changes in the paranasal sinuses, CBCT can be used prior to FESS to detect chronic rhinosinusitis and to assess anatomical variations of the OMC.
